2014 Polaris Scrambler 1000 & Ranger XP 900 in Mumbai

Polaris has announced two new models to its already expanded off-road line-up for 2014: a beefed-up Scrambler 1000 XP EPS and a sport-styled Ranger XP 900 Deluxe.

“In just the past four months, Polaris has introduced nine new vehicles to its off-road line-up,” said David Longren, vice president of Polaris’ Off-Road Division. “The Scrambler XP 1000 EPS and RANGER XP 900 Deluxe Editions provide off-road enthusiasts with more options for high-powered recreational vehicles.”

The Scrambler 1000 XP EPS is a bored-out version of the XP 850 H.O. introduced in 2013 and features a 952cc liquid-cooled Twin based on its smaller cousin. The 1000 XP EPS comes with electronic fuel injection, a shaft-driven automatic PVT transmission, On-Demand all-wheel and two-wheel drive and dual A-arm suspension in the front and rear. The engorged engine has a 270-degree offset crankshaft with dual balance shafts to smooth vibration. A new dual exhaust system optimizes power output. Fox Podium X 2.0 compression adjustable shocks link to the A-arms front and rear and feature 9 inches of travel out front, 10.25 inches out back.

The Scrambler 1000 XP EPS has a claimed payload capacity of 290 pounds, hitch towing rating of 1500 pounds and an unbraked trailer towing capacity of 1914 pounds. The front racks will carry 25 pounds of cargo and the rear box holds up to 50 pounds. The XP EPS rolls on matte black eight-spoke cast aluminum wheels shod in 14-inch Carlisle tires and has a claimed dry weight of 767 pounds.

The Ranger XP 900 Deluxe features the same specs as the Ranger XP 900 EPS but comes with a sportified cockpit that features bucket seats, a center console with integrated storage, factory installed audio system and color-matched half-doors for more protection during tight trail rides. The new Nuclear Sunset Orange color scheme highlights the sport-styled refinements to the XP 900 Deluxe. The 875cc Twin-powered XP 900 Deluxe is still a workhorse however, with a rear rack/box capacity of 1000 pounds, payload capacity of 1500 pounds and a hitch towing rating of 2000 pounds.

Both the Scrambler 1000 XP EPS and Ranger XP 900 Deluxe will hit dealerships in January 2014. MSRP has yet to be announced.
